Welcome to my blog ‘A is for Aoife not Autism’- a simple blog charting my personal experiences of life with Asperger’s Syndrome.
My goal is to advocate, educate and explicate the realities of living with a form of autism.
In sharing my journey with you, along with some scientific facts about the disorder, I hope that I can better help you to understand my world- a world that’s not as scary as first it seems.
Remember-A is also for Acceptance (and Awesome!) 🙂

Well…i’m not your average girl that’s for sure-‘normal’ is not really part of my vocabulary (so overrated!)
I’m a twenty-something avid gamer, dog lover, book devour-er, crazy knitter, confectionery goddess, part time rocker and full time scientist. What my goody two shoes cause me to lack, I more than make up for in randomness! Shy and quiet until you get to know me, then you wish you never got me to start talking 😉
In my spare time I enjoy art, writing and general nerd-ery!
Specialist interests (currently) include Harry Potter, alternative rock, superheroes, dogs and science!
Diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome as an adult at the age of 23, my journey with autism is only just beginning…
